A brief self-introduction
Introduction of my motorcycle
Thai Kawasaki KLX150BFSE. carburetor motorcycle with kick. Displacement is 144cc. 2016 model purchased in 2019. The motorcycle is almost like a KLX125 with a full-size tire and an inverted fork of Dtra 125 on the KLX125’s body, and the parts are almost the same as the one for KLX125.
How to enjoy your everyday motorcycle
Mainly commuting, down road day touring. Occasional forest roads, rarely dirt.
A few times a year I feel like a lone motocross rider on a riverbed. I prefer to ride, so I only do customization and maintenance that is easy or has to be done.
A brief description of this HACK
The KLX150BFSE’s shift change lever is made retractable by using the stock KLX250’s shift change lever.
The picture is the stock shift lever. Apparently, it bends easily when it falls over.
Parts, tools, and things needed for this HACK
Product name: Kawasaki Lever Assist (change) pedal
Part number: 13242-1380
The only tool used is a 10mm wrench.
How to do the HACK, instructions, work instructions, etc.
Explanation of specific tasks and procedures
Just remove the 10mm bolt and replace it.
*If you are using the DRC footpeg holders, removing the stock ones is not a problem, but I had to remove the footpeg holders once the KLX250 pedals got stuck in the holders.
The picture is after the exchange.
Summary of HACK
It sticks out about halfway up the head.
I’m a little personally not used to the feel of the controls, so I ended up using the stock. I think I’ll use the stock one when it bends in the future.
Kohiya, thank you for posting the valuable stock diversion HACK!
